Experiments (A/B testing)
Experiments let you compare content variants on live traffic and measure which performs better. axite produces several variants of a piece of content; the axite Tag serves one to each visitor and reports view and conversion events for the variant they actually saw, so axite attributes performance to each variant and shows which one performs best.
The experiment itself — its variants, the audience it runs on, and the run period — is configured in axite.
What it takes to go live
Experiments are not fully self-serve. A couple of things have to be set up so that swapping content on live pages doesn't break anything on your side:
- Content Security Policy. Your site's CSP must let the tag fetch variant content — add
connect-src https://impact.axite.app. - Deployment descriptor. A small serving configuration is set up for your engine so variants can be delivered to the right pages.
Because of this, your axite contact guides your first experiment end to end — to confirm the integration is correct and nothing breaks on your end. Once that's in place, further experiments are configured in axite.
Already tracking impact?
Experiments build on the axite Tag. If the tag is already live on your pages, you're most of the way there — the remaining setup (CSP and the deployment descriptor) is what your contact helps with.
